palmSpot Entry: “webOS Does, and Does, and Does Some More” by Adam Marks

Gotta ‘nother one for ya. This vid is by Adam Marks who gets down to the brass tacks of webOS. Here is how he describes his video:

Trying to take a page from of the iPhone commercials that simply show off the device (those commercials work!), I wanted to show as much as I could of webOS in the alloted 2 minutes. I know the production value is low, but I am not a graphic designer or big into video editing. I just tried to capture the best of the platform for everyone to see!

This was my video… 2 comments:
1. I filmed and wrote this before the 1.4.1 and 1.4.1.1 updates…but we are still all on a 1.4.x release (even verizon), so i still stand by my comments about webOS updates
2. I showed a coworked this video and it convinced him to get a Pre Plus! score one for webOSRoundup's Palmspot contest!

Nicely Done! Showed more of WebOS and apps than most, truly is amazing how much is there and how easy it is to use it!

How did he flip through apps in the middle of the screen without being in card view? Is it some sort of patch or video editing trick?

I think they are just pictures. He's flipping through them.

I cheated!!! In this case, it was just pictures that I pulled from the App Descriptions (so I didn't have to show my own personal stuff). But, if you have advanced gestures enabled, you can do a full swipe in the gesture area to flip through cards without minimizing them!

I know about the gesture area thing, I just thought it was odd in the middle of the screen. Makes sense now.

if what i think your talking about is what i think your talking about if you go to settings then turn on advanced gestures, You can stay in a card and switch to the next one by doing a swipe along the whole gesture area from right to left or vice versa
