German Palm App Catalog Hits 1,000 Mark

By: , 5/6/2010 4:31 pm | 9 comments

The folks in Germany have good taste in smartphones:  acceptance of the Palm Pre and Pixi has been much better there than elsewhere ’round the globe. That’s impressive, considering the fact that they’ve been very patiently awaiting the arrival of both new hardware and new apps. Well, today marks a milestone for them:  the German App Catalog has reached 1,000 apps.

While we wish this milestone had come sooner, it’s a milestone nonetheless. We have high hopes that with the maturation of the PDK and improvements in app geodistribution, that they and other countries will see a nice spike in new apps in the near future.  Glückwünsche, guys! Enjoy!

P.S.  U.K. App Catalog hit 1,000 on April 9th and currently has 1265 apps.

P.S.S. … Did we use “Glückwünsche correctly? :)

flattr this!

“Glückwunsch” (singular) would be the best choice, but “Glückwünsche” (plural) is okay :D

Where can we go to see these catalogs outside the US? Palm doesnt have any info for us devs yet other than “yup, your app is in the German catalog”.

Jo, ihr habt 'Glückwünsche' genau richtig benutzt. Und das Bild ist extrem gelungen!

In a couple of days, the Spanish catalogue will reach this milestone, too. We have 965 apps right now, so stay tuned! And congrats to the German users!
