Reboxed Review

Ever since Blockbuster went belly up in my area my family has turned to using Redbox for movie rentals. We use it a few times a week and for $1 a night for a movie it’s a pretty good deal. It’s hard to to tell what movies will actually be at the Redbox kiosk when you go to rent one so a little bit of advanced planning is a good idea. Using the Redbox website is relatively easy when searching for and reserving movies, but most of the time when we decide to get a movie we are on the go without access to a computer. When I heard that there finally was a Redbox app being released for webOS I was excited to try it out.

Reboxed by Semicolon Apps ($2.99) is that app.

When you first launch the app you are presented with a list of the most recently released movies. Clicking on the arrow next to each movie will bring a menu that will allow you to either get a detailed description or locate the movie at a Redbox kiosk near your location. If you are looking for that movie at a location near you, you can view the kiosks that it is available at and reserve it or launch a map of the location with the Google Maps app.

If you’d rather look at the selection of movies at an individual kiosk, you can do that by clicking the drop-down the menu at the top of the app. You can choose to look for kiosks near your location or near any given address. Once you’ve picked the kiosk you can see what movies are available and then reserve that movie.

The developer is currently working on an update that will add the ability to save favorite kiosks and allow for browsing.
