Palm PDK Hot Apps Program Postponed to July 15th

During our “daily skim” of Palm’s Developer site, we found an interesting — and slightly sobering — bit of news: the PDK Hot Apps program, originally scheduled to begin tomorrow, has been postponed until July 15th. It will run until September 30th.

Palm has also done a significant restructuring of its cash awards, increasing the “Top Dog” award from $25,000 to $100,000.  See the screenshot from Palm’s developer site outlining the details after the break.

We’ll leave the speculation up to you guys this time, so leave a comment below on why you think this is happening. What we do know is that Palm is trying very, very hard to court the developer community and they no doubt have gotten the nod from HP to do it.  Exciting times lie ahead.

    Here's a rather strange suggestion: an app for WOMEN. If you think about it, they're an important demographic and I think they've been neglected. The few apps that have come out for them have been very popular. Think about it.
