The Lemmings are Coming to webOS! (Update: Nevermind…)

By: , 6/30/2010 10:07 am | 7 comments

Here is something fun. Aaron Ardiri (creator of Cronk) let us know of a new blog he has started up. Essentially it is a “live blog” (read: he updates it with a lot of little posts) of his porting the classic game of Lemmings over to various mobile devices, including our beloved Pre. If you are an aspiring developer, it is also a nice glimpse into what it takes to get a game up and running on different devices.

His goal is to release the final game for free in the PDK competition that starts in July.

So, if you have a few, take a look!

UPDATE: So…apparently Sony doesn’t want him to create the port and has sent him a nasty cease and desist letter. Man, this is disappointing… http://www.mobile1up.com/lemmings/blog/sony-letter.txt

Here's a thought. Recreate it with Dodo birds, new graphics and a new name. That way your work isn't in vain. Even though you' need to do a little more work to get it out.
