webOSroundup and Syntactix launch Metrix, a new suite of developer tools for webOS

Man it is an exciting day! Today, I am proud to announce the next phase to webOSroundup called Metrix.

Ever since day one of webOSroundup my goal has been to create a platform and tools for developers to use that would help them sell and distribute their apps. Over the last several months I have been fortunate enough to meet several people who share this goal.

The newest partnership is with Syntactix owner Greg Hrebek. You know Syntactix as the developer of the #1 paid app in the Palm Hot Apps contest: YouView. A while ago Greg approached me and asked if I would be willing to help him launch a new suite of tools aimed at helping devs track their apps and help them get them to the next level.

Once I saw what he had planned, I couldn’t wait to jump on board. Today, we are launching the fruits of those efforts: Metrix (metrix.webosroundup.com). Today we are only releasing the first phase in beta form. We have been testing it for a while now and have had some of the biggest apps on the catalog lend a hand (thanks devs!). So now it is time to open it to the public.

What is Metrix?

At its very core, Metrix is an analytics tool for webOS applications. It allows devs to see how many times their app is downloaded per day, but that is just the beginning. It also allows them to see what carriers and countries their users on in. My favorite part is that it tracks how often users actually use an app.

But analytics are really just the beginning. I urge you to check out the new site for details.

So if you are a dev, go check it out! If you aren’t a dev, go check it out anyway (and tell your dev friends)! If you have any questions, feel free to contact us through our forums or our contact page

flattr this!

I love it! Now I can easily get all the info I want without having to maintain my own server and coding.

Hi, great! Thanks! But, due to the lack of flash, I can`t check Metrix on the Pre :(
How about a small “Metrix”-app? :) Anyway analysis of userbase and an easy way for a bulletin ….. THANKS!!!!!

I just submitted my app with Metrix built in. I can't wait to see how often (or not) people use my app.

Are there forums for Metrix support?

Its coming, we have already identified an HTML5 based charting library that gives us the same functionality as amCharts.
