How To: Make Your Touchstone Sticky Again!

The Touchstone wireless charger has to be the most elegant charging solution for mobile phones to date. (If you don’t have one yet, get one for dirt cheap on Verizon’s site!) Not only does it look cool, it also incorporates breakthrough “sticky” technology that allows your Touchstone to stay in place: tiny “nanotubes” create suction when compressed on a a flat surface. Over time though, thanks to dust and grime getting in and around those tubes, its base tends to lose its stickiness. How to fix it?
Easy. According to Palm themselves, the quickest and easiest solution is… (drumroll)… Scotch Tape.
Just pat the bottom of your Touchstone with the sticky portion of Scotch Tape (masking tape also works well) and your Touchstone should have its sticky mojo back. We here at webOSroundup use this method regularly and can vouch for its effectiveness.
If push comes to shove, spread a small amount of hand soap between your fingers and gently rub the bottom of your Touchstone. Rinse with a few drops of water and pat dry with a paper towel. After air drying some more, you should have an ultra-sticky Touchstone again. Happy charging!
