How to Plus Your Sprint Pre

By: , 8/17/2010 12:03 am | 4 comments

Most Sprint Palm Pre owners have been jealous ever since the first Pre Plus was offered on Verizon. When it was released to AT&T some of us die hard Sprint Palm Pre users almost felt like we were blatantly getting slapped in the face. Sprint users would like to have double the RAM and 16GB of storage too! However, this is what happens to early adopters of new gadgets. Soon those gadgets that were all the rage are left in the dust by updated versions of themselves.

Well, leave it to the rabid webOS community to take matters into their own hands because you too can now have a Pre Plus on Sprint! So long as you are fine with performing a little surgery on your beloved webOS device one can enjoy 16GB of storage and 512Mb of RAM. All that is needed for this is a Sprint Palm Pre, a Pre Plus (from either AT&T or Verizon), and livinofframen’s step by step guide on PreCentral’s forums.

We are not going to lie to you though because this is not for the average webOS user to attempt. It requires all kinds of hackery that would make most shy away from this project. However, if you have some skills with both hardware and software hacking give it a shot and let us know your results.

I have the palm plus from verizon, and at first I thought of one from sprint. But many ppl say it has a lot of problems compared to the one from verizon. I disagree, they are from the same company and the palm plus has some issues. I have had replace my phone twice because of speaker and freeze problems. The palm plus is the idea phone for business because it’s ability to carry important info so I agree with you for ppl to try this idea :D
