What Mystery Devices are in Phil McKinney’s Hands?

Let’s have a little bit of fun, shall we? A lot of the webOS community is chomping at the bit to learn about new hardware, including all of us at webOSroundup. We want some specs, some pictures, anything to whet our appetites. When someone as high up in HP as Phil McKinney has pictures of him using some blacked-out devices, our attention is grabbed.

Not only is there one mystery device in the picture, but there is three! Could they be the HP Hurricane, and a Palm Pre 2? Could that be a webOS watch on his wrist that is blacked out? What could they be? Our minds are racing. The item in the top picture is definitely tablet-sized. The item in bottom picture is smartphone size-ish.

Phil was nice enough to provide a little comment via this tweet.

If you have not heard, Phil McKinney is trying drum up support for his SXSW panel idea, “What Will Be the Gadgets You Are Carrying in 2015?” These pictures were posted as part of his campaign for that panel idea.

Thanks for the tease, Phil. Next time, does us all a favor and be sure to remove the black boxes. Even if these are pictures of prototypes, we want to see them in all their glory.

    Interesting. I think the watch looking thing is a static band. The keypad looking thing I'm not sure about. The first I think is a phone because I've never held my pre how he is holding the last object, unless it's a thinner phone with on screen keyboard, then the first pic could be a tablet.

    It's obvious from the shape of the smaller device that it's a Palm V. The thing on his wrist is a Timex-Sinclair wrist calculator and the larger rectangle is a Blueboy magazine.

    Palm/HP, please just show the world what is in the works already!! You are losing market share by the min, and if you dont tease, then your next release will just go by the wayside like the current crop of Palm phones.
