Win a Palm Pre Plus and Support a Great Cause!
We like giving away stuff, but we also like supporting great causes. So it makes sense that we try to combine the two, right? Here’s the bottom-line up front – we want to give away a Palm Pre Plus on AT&T to one of our followers. But to win, you’ve got to do one very small thing. ;)
My brother, Joe Dean (that’s him to the left), is getting ready to run a full Marathon on December 5th of 2010 to raise money for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. His goal is $1000, but right now he’s only got up to $335 by conventional methods. I figured that it’s time to step things up a bit, though, and see if you webOS lovers wouldn’t mind giving him a hand.
Here’s a brief explanation of the event from Joe:
For me, this is my first marathon. When I found out what charity it was contributing to, it made it even more important. Although not personally affected, I am well aware of the effects of Crohn’s. One of my best friends has to live with it.
Research funded by events like this will help advances in treatment and medicines designed to minimize and hopefully one day eliminate this disease that affects 1.4 million people.
How To Win:
To be entered to win is pretty easy. While we hope (and strongly suggest) that you consider donating a few dollars to support his marathon cause, we only require one thing from you: Either comment on this post below or share it publicly with your followers (be sure to send us a link so we can count it). On August 12th we’ll pick the winner.
Easy, huh?
And, of course, if you do decide to donate a few dollars, I can tell you now that Joe is greatly appreciative of your support (he told me so himself!) and so are the people at the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. And so are we! That’s why we’re giving away this cool prize.
UPDATE: Joe left this comment for you guys to see.
Thanks so much to everyone that has commented and donated to this great cause. I will be sure to train up and run a good race.
Good luck, Joe. Run well. :)
