2 new Palm phones get certified: the P102UNA and P102EWW [Updated - New Touchstone?!]

By: , 9/26/2010 11:39 pm | 25 comments

Our friends over at WebOS Internals posted something interesting on his twitter this evening: Two screenshots of what appears to be two new phones registered as products on August 3rd of this year!

You can see them for yourself on the TUV website.

Now, this isn’t earth shattering news, but it seems as though the new HP/Palm phones are starting to show up on some websites with the model designation of P102UNA and P102EWW. If nothing else, these numbers may give us another way to hunt for more info.

More as we learn it.

UPDATE! Apparently WebOS Internals is still digging around the TUV website. They found what looks to be an “inductive battery charger”. We all know this is just fancy language for our beloved Touchstone. During our podcast with Rahul Sood a while back, Rahul mentioned that existing TSs may not work with a new phone simply because different voltage requirements. Of course there were no specifics. But it is interesting to see that HP/Palm is cooking up something. You can read about the battery charger certification on the TUV website.

flattr this!

Glad to see new phones but what am I going to do with a touchstone that won't work with my new phone?

Looks like the TUV website won't load.

About time! Although, I'm not happy to hear that the current touchstone may not work with the new hardware.

This is really awesome stuff. We're all so hungry for any kind of hw news that this was way more then I expected. Maybe if I combine two touchstones together into one massive TouchstoneMonster it will charge the new phone(s)? I could hook it directly to 220!! (muahahahaaaaa)

NOT TWO phones, but ONE phone.

P102UNA is for GSM in North America
P102EWW is for CDMA in North America

They are both the P102 phone (Pre was P100, Pre Plus was P101), which will be the successor to the Pre based on the model number.
