webOS Q&A Metrix App Mill Forums About Contact Tip Us

Disqus is coming to webOS (… and WOR is going to Disqus!)

So this is appropriate…the fancy commenting moderation service disqus has just announced that they are releasing a webOS client (among others). Now unless you run a blog this app probably isn’t getting you all excited, but it may interest you somewhat because we are going to switch over to disqus so that we can support their efforts.

We used to use Disqus a while back, but we switched to Intense Debate just to see how things were. It is a great system and I would recommend it for any blog owners, but the fact that Disqus is supporting our favorite platform tips things in their favor.

If happen to be a blog owner, here is what the new app will do once it is on the catalog (it is currently under review).

Features:

  • Approving, marking spam, and deleting content
  • Filtering by status
  • Background notifications
  • Search
  • Reply
  • View Context

Cool stuff!

FYI…we have started the process of importing. Existing comments will come over in time…we didn’t lose them.

Didn’t you have a lot of problems with Disqus?

Yeah, lot’s of websites have issues with disqus (mine did but that’s another story…) but now it looks pretty good, and it’s tweakable, so you can force it to play nice if need be.

Same here, used to use it on a few Joomla websites, but this is back before they offered Facebook integration and other social network options that enhance Disqus and make it a pretty complete product. either way, I’m looking forward to it and time to reinstall Disqus on all of my Blogs and Portals.
