HP and Oracle kiss and make up… *yawn*

By: , 9/20/2010 5:30 pm | 2 comments

Ok, so here we were thinking that things were just getting juicy. HP fires Mark Hurd, Larry Ellison whines about it, Oracle hires Mark, HP sues Mark to prevent him from working for Oracle.

We were all set up for a wonderful soap-opera like smackdown. And what do we get?

… Nuthin’.

HP, Mark, and Oracle settled their differences behind closed doors and now they want to make sure everyone knows that they are still best buds.

“HP and Oracle have been important partners for more than 20 years and are committed to working together to provide exceptional products and service to our customers,” said Cathie Lesjak, chief financial officer and interim chief executive officer, HP. “We look forward to collaborating with Oracle in the future.”

“Oracle and HP will continue to build and expand a partnership that has already lasted for over 25 years,” said Oracle CEO Larry Ellison.

Umm… can I get a “meh?”

This was all expected of course, and in our heart of hearts we’re glad that the issue was settled amicably. These two giants have been partners for a long time and a little thing like “Hurdgate” is gonna get in the way of that. Oh well… the fireworks were fun while they lasted.
