Gizmodo has released a leaked video of the HP Windows 7 Slate. As you recall, HP had announced that a Windows 7 Slate would be launched, and then a webOS “PalmPad” shortly thereafter. Highlights of the video include a front-facing camera, high quality glass screen, quick boot-up time (for Windows7), and swiping between browser pages. The browser seemed to be running Flash ads just fine, too. The folks at Gizmodo were rather underwhelmed by the video (surprise, surprise)… we’ll let you guys draw your own conclusions. (We just have one question: what’s up with the dude’s accent?) Can’t wait until we see an actual webOS tablet video leaked!

Well Flash running was a given, its running a full OS. I'm glad they went win7 for their slate rather than some Android variation. I'm rather excited to see how this thing will run. Of course I'm waiting for that PalmPad, I told my wife its all I want for my Christmas and birthday, which is in early spring, if anything else just to support the Palm project at HP. I don't want to see the brand cut down the road because nothing sold well!

I'm interested to see how this thing handles in the long hull. We all know windows, after your have been running the same install for 6-9mo you start to see sluggishness and slow boots etc etc. Even if you are a Pro and keep everything clean and running top notch, longer time goes by the less it seems like it did after the fresh reformat and installation. I wonder how this tablet will hold up with windows running. I would much prefer windows to Android if they can pull it off well.

I support Dr. Offices who use elecronic medical records applications. They run on Windows. This is going to be great for Dr.s to use when they are seeing patients.

I can't believe how awful Windows looks crammed into a tablet. "A Control-Alt-Delete key"? Really?! The mouse cursor that kept popping up when he tapped was killing me. Maybe it's pre-production still because surely the finished product can't be quite that bad. No wonder HP is all about webOS!

The accent isn't too strange. Sounds like family I have in rural Maryland.

The hardware looks totally awesome. I hope this is a glimmer of what the PalmPad will look like hardware wise. I don’t have a problem with windows so I would by the slate. But I’m much more intetrested in the webOS variant. Come on HPalm leak the PalmPad already.

This is aimed at the enterprise market and many enterprises requre you use Ctrl-Alt-Dlt to log on to Windows so having a button for it makes sense.

Yep I was going to say the same thing when I read all the people laughing, like they did it because they know it would lock up a lot of something. I guess those who say that do not work in an office for a large corporation, where we use this key combo 10+ times daily, just to unlock the screen.
