Six New HP Palm Smartphones for 2011?

By: , 10/25/2010 5:21 pm | 28 comments

Let the rumours begin!

While we can’t be sure of the authenticity of the source it certainly looks like HP Palm may have up to 6 new devices coming in 2011 – Foxconn Technology are said to have taken orders for up to five new Palm devices and Commpal Communications are set to deliver at least one new Palm device.

There’s not much more to say at this point – this is still strictly a rumour, but you can be sure we’ll report back as soon as we know more!

Thanks, @Osiris_C3!

flattr this!

Lets hope at least one of those lands on Sprint

Three on AT&T and three on Verizon…. :P

And the Palm Pad to T-Mobile ;)

  • Phenoum

Guessing 5 phones and one tab?

Wishful thinking… Palm Pads, 2 touchscreen only phones, 2 keyboard phones. 2 of each for a GSM and a CDMA version for each.

Hmm interesting. Think there’s a market for two Pads from the off? Like a 7″ and a 10″ model?

One thin, light, well-built 10″ model will suffice

Not sure what form factor I want in a tablet…10″ sounds nice, but would it be cooler to have a smaller one that is lighter and easier to carry around? Dunno…

Palm TX sized “touch” device would be awesome.

Oh ok lol I think I just mis-read your post. One is more than sufficient.

I would personally like it to stay with 2 phones both having keyboards – just larger versions of both the Pre and Pixi. For marketing purposes, a slab TS-only phone would prob sell way more. Be very interested to see how HP/Palm implement a TS only interface

I hope one works with the charge stone and is a Sprint Lead Phone.

AWESOME…when I first voted, the polls showed our beloved Palm at around 11%, now eight hrs later it’s at 27%. Ppl are definitely showing their support……or it’s a fake poll. Hopefully not the latter.

oops..sorry meant to post this for ZDnet top ten article….my apologies.

Wonder why the announcement wasn’t earlier if there is a 1st quarter 2011 planned release? Just make sure the hardware is high quality!

  • Rambo1

Would not be surprised to see (on Sprint) – 3.8″ vertical slider and a 4.3″ slate (or a 3.5″ slider and a 4″ slate).

Same pair on ATT gets you to 4 devices plus a 10″ PalmPad on Sprint, that is five.

No need for a 7″ pad of any kind IMHO especially if you are selling a 4.3″ phone.

  • Kallisti

Hey guys, why are you counting the devices per carrier? That’s strange…

Hey guys, love the new update. Now posting comment from my Pre, has just elevate my experience. 2011, will be Hpalm year,&with 6 new phones, webOS will rude. Hpalm, just make sure you guys lunch with all the form factors, with bigger screen, like 3.8-4 inch, solid well built, with the new OMAP 4 super processor. Also, a higher resolution.

FoxConn? Really? After the serious human rights/social justice issues that arose around the iPhone?
    I’m not excited.
(Yes, people are more important than technology, hater comments to the contrary NOT invited.)

I ENCOURAGE ALL PALM OWNERS TO BOYCOTT THE BUYNG OF ALL NEW PALM DEVICES UNTIL AFTER THE ADOBE FLASH/WEBOS 2.0 RELEASE HAS BEEN MADE TO CURRENT PALM OWNERS. PALM CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO RELEASE THE UPDATE TO CURRENT OWNERS IF PEOPLE START BUYING THEIR NEW PRE 2. WE’VE BEEN PROMISED FOR A LONG, LONG TIME ADOBE FLASH AND PALM HAS NOT DELIVERED. DON’T TRUST THAT THEY WILL MAKE GOOD ON THERE PROMISE THIS TIME, JUST BECAUSE THEIR WEB SITE SAYS THAT THE WEBOS 2.0 UPDATE/UPGRADE WILL BE AVAILABLE “IN THE COMING MONTHS”. THAT IS AN EMPTY PROMISE THAT COULD POTENTIALLY MEAN A YEAR PLUS FROM NOW. LET’S SEE THE UPDATE, PALM!
