Metrix – The Future Defined

By: , 10/20/2010 4:54 pm | 19 comments

While the current set has been a bit rough around the edges, we have busily working with many developers in the community to identify what information, tools, and services a developer needs to be successful.  Today we are proud to announce the Metrix Scope of Development.  Over the next few weeks we will post in-depth information about each sections. In-app purchases, Gaming stuff, and remote debugging (and dynamic help system) are the things I’m most excited about.

      I’m right there with ya!

Wow. Ambitious. Good luck pulling it all off.

The hot patching is a neat trick for little errors that slip through, but I also see a potential for abuse, sneaking in features that Palm wouldn’t have approved. Still, I haven’t heard the details and you guys may have already accounted for that.

I look forward to the articles.

Not mentioned, but part of the help is a formmail system. Will allow users to report bugs and communicate with you regardless of whether they have email on their device or not.

Wow! if metrix can follow through with these lofty goals this will certainly be impressive.

It wasn’t mentioned in the article, is this all coming for free?

  • http://twitter.com/Syntactix Syntactix LLC

We will delve into it more in the in-depth articles, but at the high level the goal is to offer everything free with Marketing, Advertising, and Transaction Services having a small revenue share.

Can’t wait to try some of these features, this also reminds me that I need to update my app.

Quick question: Can other developers collaborate on Metrix? Do you guys have a public repo I can fork on github?

I’m interested in the gaming, marketing and patching capabilities.

We will open some aspects of the platform up here in the future. Right now we are working with some key developers to establish a good base to build from. If you are interested in helping out shoot me an email and we talk about how you can help out.

        Got it. Will do.

You know what else would be nice. A webOS app to track your Metrix. Not sure if that exists already or not or if it’s already in the pipeline. Either way I’ll shoot you an email.

This is an impressive suite. For a day job I do business intelligence, marketing analysis, and work for a company that makes money selling mobile advertising. To pull all of these things into one suite is pretty impressive. I’m beginning to develop for webOS and this will be the first product I include. Nice work, I look forward to learning more.
