webOS 2.0: Support for multiple Palm Profiles?

By: , 10/30/2010 3:24 pm | 7 comments

A very interesting observation has been made by those guys over at webOSWorld, in which it looks like there is support for multiple Palm profiles on one device in the latest iteration of webOS. This cropped up at about 4min 08secs in to this video uploaded by a French SFR user.  This is definitely the first time we’ve seen or heard of this being supported in webOS 2.0. The burning question now is: Can one Palm profile sign-in be used to sign in to multiple devices? We sure hope so!

Note the name of the first profile: ‘Dr Skipped Firstuse’,

Firstuse is the activation programme that runs first on the phone.

I will believe multiple profiles when I see multiple real profiles.

      :)… “I’ll believe it when I see it”… always a perfect answer/responce from Rod.

I’m with Rod. Tho, if it’s true, that would be pretty slick.

What are the implications of this?

That would be an interesting feature but I’m not sure what the possible upside of it would be. It might be interesting to have a family profile that allowed you to share contacts and calendars with your family. Perhaps even sharing apps among your family.

First we’d have to confirm “multiple devices with the same profile” for app sharing :( We can only hope they do that, or the complications involved with Palm phone users owning PalmPads would be heartbreaking.

I would like to see this. I think one one a phone and maybe a way to log in under your profile in the pad. Then you get you notificatons and everything right there. Does the IPad share apps?
