Facebook App is Exhibition Mode Ready – Are You?

As you explore the new and improved App Catalog you’ll now be able to see at a glance which of the advanced webOS 2.0 features your app of choice is compatible with.

Although Exhibition Mode hasn’t actually been released yet for webOS 2.0 users, we can see the building blocks coming together. Each app in the Catalog now has a Works With subsection where the developer can list the features he’s included. We’re impressed with the clarity that this new section offers and it’ll be fundamental in letting the user know whether or not their chosen app actually works with the Touchstone or if it’s plugged into Synergy or Quick Actions.

As you can see from the screenshot, Facebook is now officially ready for Exhibition mode and Just Type Quick Actions. We’re not quite sure why they’ve tagged the old Universal Search name instead of Just Type, but it’s early days so we’ll go with it.

No word yet as to when Exhibition Mode will be released, but we’re willing to bet that it’s not far off. In the meantime developers with the 2.0 SDK can continue improving their apps so that hopefully there will be a host of apps for you to use these advanced features with when they’re ready.

Thanks, @benfysh!

Isn’t the Facebook app developed by Palm? So that makes sense..

Just so you know, it has had that listed the entire time… As in, when I took the 2.0 App Catalog from the SFR doctor and put it on my 1.4.5 dev phone, it showed Facebook as being “Touchstone Charging Dock” (IIRC — I flashed the device so somebody I know [who uses a blackberry] can test it out for a day or two on AT&T to see if they like it and if they do, then I just sold yet another person on webOS)
