HP CTO Phil McKinney Won’t be at NYC Dev Day. (UPDATE: He Made It! Ben and Dion, Too!)

By: , 11/19/2010 8:57 am | 4 comments

Most webOS faithful know HP CTO Phil McKinney. As VP & CTO for HP Personal Systems Group, he’s a pretty prominent figure who stands to exert much influence over the direction webOS will take. His attendance at webOS Dev Day was therefore highly anticipated.

We picked up on some bad news from his personal Twitter account, though… due to weather delays, he won’t be attending. Oh, well. Here’s hoping he’s got an ultra-sleek, top-secret, spanking-new webOS prototype device in his pocket so he can follow the event!

UPDATE! And almost in Hollywood fashion (we can hear the soundtrack to Armageddon in the distance), McKinney managed to make it just in time for Saturday’s keynote! Not only that, but Ben Galbraith and Dion Almaer have made it just in time as well, even though they’d announced they were leaving HP-Palm! We’re pretty pleasantly surprised, here.

I thought he wasn’t scheduled to speak at web 2.0, that was supposed to be Rubinstein and Todd Bradley, and Bradley was the one who missed it.
