What is This All About?

By: , 12/18/2010 10:20 pm | 17 comments

The screencap says it all. Currently if you try to go Palm’s site to pick up the webOS Doctor you will get redirected to a page telling you:

The MyPalm site is under maintenance. Please check back later.

Our question is what the heck is MyPalm beta? Is this some kind of mistake or is something big around the corner? We will keep an eye on this to see what happens. This could be nothing at all. However, with all the news and rumors we have had lately we wouldn’t be surprised if something cool was coming. Stay tuned.

Update: Our good buddy Mark Coppock points out in our comments:

Is this old code leftover from the PalmOS days, or are they resurrecting this:

yeah if you look in the CSS, you’ll see that the latest changes were in 2007…

It’s a shame really, that it’s just old code. HPalm needs some type of myPalm site. Like GM said, to be able to see and manage data linked to your Palm Profile.

it may or may not be “just old code”. could be a teaser for upcoming announcements. but i wont get my hopes up…

It’s funny to read the comments back then… If only I could go back in time and tell them about a palm pre and all the specs :)

  • Melvin

I just read the comment predicting the return of tablet-style data centric devices, with high res screens, modern multitasking OSs, and desktop class browers. Psychic?

It appears this page only shows up when you visit the UK Palm website, http://www.palm.com/uk/en/ and click the support link, the US,DE,FR sites all visit the support page correctly.
