    Seems PRICEY!!

    *yawn*

  • http://www.webosroundup.com/ DanR

It was available for pre-order for a hundred bucks. I thought that was the sweet spot. Why the hell they changed it I don’t know. … It won’t stay $150 for very long.

    • Mikeyy

      Cuz its VERIZON!

  • Anonymous

Skype. We could really use Skype. Like, woah.

  • Joseph Ziehm

To much $$$$_ HP needs to scrap everyone of the Palm former marketing directors to have any chance. This is just the icing on the cake which proves it.

    • http://AToTheT.org/ Ajay

      I thought they already did?

      • Joseph Ziehm

        They hung onto Jon.

  • JDM

Wheeeee! I know where I’ll be spending some time to play!

  • Raun

At least this is a step in the right direction. I wonder how long it will take for someone to hack for use on Sprint?

  • wewter

Wonder if it’ll include the all-important defunct agps that my pre plus still suffers from.

  • RICELDI

Stop complaining VZ users, at least you have the option to get it. I wouldn’t mind paying that with Sprint!!!

    • art_sjc

Really? You would lock yourself into a 2 year contract when the Pre 3 is coming out in about 6 months? There are also whispers coming out of MWC that it won’t be getting webOS 2.1…

      • Ty

But there is no guarantee that those products are going to sprint. Unless I missed it, I haven’t heard any CONFIRMED talk of sprint.

  • Danar

Pricey? What! Come on. I paid $200.00 after a $100.00 rebate last march for my pre plus. Seems reasonable to me.

    • Rob

Also, there will be no more new every two upgrades.

I know there will be no OTA 2.0 does this mean we can go in store for it?

Like they said, what about the legacy users?

I love my pre plus and am happy with it now :)

I got my Pre Plus on Verizon for $50 +2 year contract a little less than a year ago :) still same ol’ Pre Plus. Wait, I thought people were grandfathered in(new every two) one last time? Sadness… Oh Well, hope HP’s special thing for us is a Pre4!!!! (in the coming months. Jk.)

      • Mikeyy

        Could be a Pre4G!

      • Rob

You are grandfathered in one last time with the new every two

  • Micah R

I hope the promise hp said regarding helping older device owners includes a voucher to buy the pre2 prior to contract renewal. My pre plus is already showing age with less than a year on it. I won’t hold my breath though.

  • JWalker

Same here in Germany, i paid 361 € in august 2010 to get my Pre+, and after that i could choose the carrier that i wanted. 1 GB of traffic per month for about 13€, that’s enough for me. I’ll wait for the Pre3, IF it is ever available here at some point… :)

  • http://www.arthurthornton.net/ Arthur Thornton

What’s with the Amazon MP3 part saying you can only download the songs if you’re connected to WiFi??

  • Joseph Ziehm

I’d welcome the Pre3 even after market but I know better. The Pixi+ is useful for what I need it for. But, it lacked style and made up for it in a mild app store. Let’s hope that HP stops dropping balls on us!

  • JDM

How demanding is everyone? I have a Sprint Pixi and there is nothing major to complain about. Could it be faster? Sure, but it’s not a (I like Apple) G5 desktop, it’s a phone! It calls, pulls up websites, kills it on emails, and whatever else is fun (“Zilch”!). Multi-tasking is very limited but I can definitely look at website to get name of place, look at it in maps, and then write email or text with the address or picture to a buddy, in thirty seconds or less. Pre 2 is probably better than my elegant phone, and Pre 3 even better. If people want entry now to the Preverse, let it be. I agree price will go down (it always does), and it’s a great phone. IF Pre 2 was all I had in December to choose from when my plan renews, I’d take it. Can I brag about it to other people? Probably not, but I dont brag to others about my cool phone. I enjoy it.

We’re demanding bc we’re supposedly buying cutting edge technology that we’re stuck with for 2 years. I am not buying a cell phone, I’m buying a smart phone. I like my pre for sprint, but it’s slow and the hardware is breaking down. As soon as my contract is up, I’ll be switching to an evo or equivalent bc there’s nothing palm/hp has ofered me… And that’s a hit for hp.

  • Randolph

Sad. Sooo sad. Old phone for new phone price. Yes, I said old phone. No one is releasing a 800 mhz phone now. Heck, you could pick up a Samsung gal for 50 at wal mart right now. The Pre 2 is a 50 dollar or less phone deal and only a fool would pay more. Pre users are not fools so let them sit on the shelves and collect dust. My contracts not up anyhow.

    • Joseph Ziehm

I renewed my contract on Pixi+ with the promise of WebOS 2.0 which is yet another area where HP/Palm need to work on a new marketing and cost anaylisis system. There is no defending old technology prices at this point.

Tell us the future and sell us the past. I’m just gonna abandon this board until something from the 2/9 show actually shows up retail.

  • Strife

Nice phone but refuse to switch to verizon all the care for is $$$$ not that sprint doesn’t but they try to keep their customers happy with great plans and great customer service. Hp palm and sprint make the announcement asap before the weak jump ship..
