Wait so no WebOS 2.0 for legacy device users… HP you suck and the arrogant rhetoric of the CEO confirms it as pretty much vaporware. Write off legacy users and switch to new devices while forgetting the legacy users. Note to the CEO nicw job dumb ass.

      *nice job

Where did you read nothing for legacy? I haven’t seen or heard that. Don’t you think you’re jumping the gun? You must be one mad iOS user leaving comments on this site. Can’t wait to get my hands on the PRE3 and tablet

    • Joseph Ziehm

Ahem I’ve supported Palm/HP for the longest time but this is pretty much vaporware from the top down.

Ios users don’t waste their time with this garbage. Live in the real world, and stop believing everything you read.

      • Joseph Ziehm

This is the real world did you notice on the official Palm site that they dropped any mention of the Pixi or Pixi+ receiving the WebOS 2.0 designs?

        • RussK

I am a Sprint Pixi user, running the 800MHz over clock; it is still not fast enough for an OS upgrade. There is no way that I want webOS 2.0+ forced on this relatively slow phone. That said, if the Verro isn’t released for CDMA, I’ll easily hold onto this phone until summer for the Pre3–hopefully with sprint.

We’ll never now know, but 2.0 is said to contain GPU acceleration of the OS so it could possibly speed up your phone as less of a load is put on the CPU.

Any word if any of these are 4G?

  • PalmOn

WOW! Just like I have been saying since 2.0 was announced. They can’t be trusted!!! HP/Palm appears to have removed all references on their web site to the original Sprint Pre getting the webos 2.0 update!!! I don’t think they make a hammer big enough for what I am thinking about doing to my Pre! Folks on this site kept saying, don’t worry, the 2.0 OTA update is comming. Well, what have you got to say for yourself now? And even if they push out the 2.0 update today, tomorrow, or whenever, it’s still the same bull with them toying with their base. And no new devices until the spring and summer per the Palm web site??? That’s about as bad as saying they’ll be available “in the coming months.” (Not to mention that if they are supposed to be working together, you must them sell them together, at the same time.) WTF??? Huge disappointment!!!

    • Jeff

You make us wait till Feb 9th for your big announcement. Then your telling us coming this summer. What ever happened to poducts being ready to ship shortly after the event. F***Y** HPPalm and hello iphone.

  • John K.

Then beat your PRE with that big hammer and move on. Noones keeping you here but you. Don’t gripe just leave

    • Joseph Ziehm

John we wanted WebOS 2.0 my Pixi+ is only a few months into a long term contract. I got it after studying the layout of WebOS 2.0 for business and gaming purposes. Instead we have a loud mouthed CEO blowing smoke up our rear ends and then revealing on launch day of newer devices that it is not officially coming to legacy devices. I am ready to file a lawsuit because this marks it as an outright bait and switch.

    • Darkgift

John, ur very angry with us who are disappointed in todays outcome. Why? We have the right to be. 2 years of being teased and toyed with is enuff. You must be new, or fairly new, to the fold. Either that or you have ungodly patience.

  • Al

It’s no wonder CEO’s and the Washington crowd hang out so much in this corporatist state we live in they a both clueless about the wants and needs of the average person no matter ehat they tell you.

And even more so you can not believe a word that comes off thir lips !!!

You like making us read between the lines of BS well I got one for ya all lets see if that Ivy League education can help you figure out this one.

    ..!..

  • John K.

Then you go into the big red store raise hell and say you want the iPhone instead because the HPalm folks aren’t giving you what you wanted out of the device. I got out of a contract without paying extra because the service was aweful once you got off the interstate. I have no doubt whether it’s at&t or verizon they’d let you out of the contract for the palm device so you could switch to the iphone or android device of your choice

    • Darkgift

Dude, take some of that aggretion and direct it at the company who’s screwin over their loyal fan base.

  • Roman

If that’s correct that there won’t be updates for Pre and Pixi owners to 2.0 – then HP can go you know what!!!!!!

  • Ken

This link still exists and says the updated 2.0 is coming to Pre+/-

I think I’m gonna go with the Slate 500 and somehow hope they develop a port to Synergy.

  • BP

Delicious, ironic typo on Ben Patterson’s Yahoo News article: “…while HP didn’t make any mention of the carrier, the Veer’s GSM radio tips the scales towward AT&T and/or T-Mobile. Expect the Veer to arrive in early sprint (sic), HP said.”
