Video: HP wants everything to be connected

By: , 3/17/2011 3:10 pm | 23 comments

The SVP and GM of the HP Personal Systems Group Stephen Dewitt talks about “the webOS” on a little YouTube vid today.

Keyword of the day? Connectivity.

You ready for a webOS alarm clock? Heck yeah! I think that if HP had their way you would:

  • Hit the snooze button on your webOS alarm clock in the morning.
  • Brush your teeth with a webOS toothbrush
  • Eat breakfast from your webOS toaster and fridge
  • Use a webOS phone to talk to your webOS computer and tablet
  • Get into your Ford which is powered by webOS sync
  • And of course, you would print everything on your webOS printer

Sounds good to me. Check out the vid and tell us what you think.

Thanks for the tip Jake!

I can dig it. :) as long as there is an eventual plan to, you know, release the devices I’m happy. ;)

You mean we can buy these things. I thought it would be just something we could visit at Epcot. It sure feels that way.

Yes! The return of the webOS toaster!

I’m sure all the talk is helping HP stock…

I guess the demand for that WebOS toaster is there, even precentral has mention of it. With this type of demand it should be available in the coming months.

webOS lawnmower was mentioned a while ago… maybe 2010, could have been late 2009… but STILL not in the stores… nor the webOS 2 user love seat/toilet lawnmower upgrade

  • Mannyman

So is “the webOS” like “the Batman”?

    • http://www.sophistechate.com Lisa Brewster

Sigh. An app gets rejected every time someone from HP calls it “the webOS.”

      • MarkDA2000

well that was four mentions of “the webOs2 in a two and a half minute video. Looks like we are going to have a very small App Catalog(ue) for quite some time :)

I found this comment on the Twitter.

Ah how sweet the sound of the largest app catalog around on my favorite OS we can dream at least but with apps and the wait for features and devices while others are delivering makes it feel like playing the lottery waiting for the big jackpot

WOW! Sounds great! Where do I get these magic beans?

“Never Mind the Man Behind the Curtain Folks”

The fact that all of this “Coming Goodies” talk is flooding the HP world & the webOS forums is simply a “Distraction from the Current Situation” Show the kids a shiny object & they replace crying with excitement…
Tablets, Toasters, & Toilet Bowls… Where is the gear that started the WebOS World? …limbo, that’s where you’ll find it. Veer Coming to Europe… Great! Where’s the promised coming “Making Things Right”?
Surely offering Pre2′s for nothing on Verizon helps… Verizon Pre Plus & Pixi Plus owners… But where is the Pre 3? … but more notably, where is the relief for us Palm faithful who first bought into webOS & the Pre/Pixi? At least let us know IF we will get the option to buy one unlocked at a rebated price.

Why do those on Sprint deserve it? Because we were the Beta testers of a “Finished” product & have been waiting long for things that never came to be… Not much different that what many of those with 2.X are doing now….
