Mosaic: Finally a news reader that is as powerful as it is beautiful

A few months ago Roy and I decided that we wanted to work together. After a few days of arm wrestling and cage match brawling we decided we wanted to build a news reader. As readers of the site know, I am a huge fan of news readers. Aside from checking my email it is easily my #1 task I do on the go.
There are a lot of good news readers out there, but all of them have a shortcoming or two or things that could be improved. After a few months of hard labor, we have created Mosaic in an effort to try and correct those shortcomings.

Without going into tooooo much detail, Mosaic is a news reader that was built to be functional, beautiful, and fast. We are aiming to launch as the premier news reader for the TouchPad this June, but today we are proud to announce that we are accepting beta applications to those brave souls who want to help us improve the software and make it the best news reader it can be.
If you are interested, just head on over to www.mosaicreader.com and sign up for our private beta. Here are a few things to keep in mind.
- Currently Mosaic is a web app that uses HTML 5 and other goodies to give an app like experience. This means that you do not need a tablet to use it. We will create a native webOS app for the TouchPad, but the web app will be usable on any desktop/laptop or tablet device.
- Mosaic is not meant for phones (yet). HTML 5 is supported in webOS, but we have not tailored the UI to work with small screens so it will be wonky at best.
- We will be allowing only a few people into the private beta at first. As they system becomes more stable we will invite more and more. If you apply now we will let you in, but you will need to be a touch patient.
