Review: Quick Post
For nearly a week now, I’ve been using a new app called Quick Post by Hedami. Quick Post is a neat little companion app to those who use Twitter and/or Facebook, which would be just about the entire webOS user base.
The name may just give away the purpose of the app, but then again it may not. Quick Post allows you to post to Twitter and/or Facebook via Quick Actions. Quick Post allows for multiple accounts, from both Twitter and Facebook.
To add an account, you tap on either the Twitter icon on the bottom left or the Facebook icon on the bottom right of the Accounts scene.
Then, if you’re on webOS 2.0.0+, you can open Just Type and add the app as a Quick Action. If you’re not running webOS 2.0.0+, or if you just don’t feel like using Just Type, you can open Quick Post and type a message from the opening scene and select which accounts to post to. If you select a twitter account, it will show you a character counter in the top left of the text box. Likewise, if you select a Facebook account, it shows a counter on the top right side of the text box.
Watch the video (from the developer) and check the screenshots below, then buy the app.
Pros
- First app to enable posting to Twitter and Facebook simultaneously
- First app to support both Twitter and Facebook Quick Actions
- Amazing price of just $1.50
- Great in-app and direct-to-developer support
- Very stylish, users of Music Player (Remix) will know and love the user interface before they even open the app
- Automatically splits Tweets/Facebook messages so you don’t have to deal with the character limits or count characters
Cons
- Should automatically add mentions to all of the split tweets, but doesn’t yet support it (though the developer has promised this will come in a future update)
