preNotes: More Veer

After playing with the HP Veer for a week I’ve settled on my top five reasons to love this phone. Along the way I collected some tips and thoughts on how to get the most out the Veer. Hear about both on this week’s preNote.

    • What are preNotes?
    preNotes are short audio clips (typically between 5 – 10 minutes) that give you tips on how to better use your Palm Pre. They are released each week and cover a wide array of helpful tips so that you too can become a webOS ninja.

    A quick question: do the Text Assist data syncs with the Palm account.

      That’s a good question. The answer is NO. The Text Assist User Dictionary (spelling and shortcuts) is not currently backed up to your Palm Profile. So if you are going to erase your device or switch devices you will lose your dictionary words. It will be nice when it gets backed up to be sure, but adding words back into the dictionary is pretty quick when you start over. You might want to make a list of your shortcuts however or take a screenshot so you remember what they all were.

        Thanks for the response. I guess it could be done with homebrew, but yeah, maybe it’s not that hard starting over. It’d be nice if it synced, though.

    I’ve had my PalmPrePlus since April 2011 w/Verizon. I really like this device. It’s small, yet big screen & I like havin a replaceable battery. I love you Pre-Notes info. How can I get past reports? I just disccovered the Pre-Notes by accident. They are great!
