The Return of Docs To Go for the HP TouchPad? (UPDATE: Nope. Mistake.)
Well what do we have here? HP has uploaded a photo gallery of the TouchPad to their Facebook page showing the TouchPad in various angles much to the delight of over 568 “Likes” as of this writing. Sure, we’ve seen it all before except for one minute detail that caught us a little off guard.
We couldn’t help but notice a familiar icon on one of the slides that we hadn’t seen in a while: Documents To Go. As a matter of fact, we weren’t expecting to see it all considering DataViz killed development of the app for webOS back in September of 2010. It’s a sure bet the graphic may be the result of a sleepy eyed graphics designer (or was it??) but what we do know is that QuickOffice is a sure bet on the TouchPad come July 1; It filled the gap Docs To Go left behind. Still, we couldn’t help but nitpick a little considering we’re so close to launch.
But who knows? Maybe HP (or DataViz for that matter) had a change of heart? Is QuickOffice out the door to be replaced by Documents To Go? Perhaps not, but we’d sure like to get our grimy little hands on one to see for ourselves!
UPDATE! HP has let us know that this graphic was indeed an error on their part, and that an old screenshot render was used in that graphic. They apologize for any confusion this caused and wanted to make it clear HP is working closely with QuickOffice going forward. Questions? Good.
