I Say! HP TouchPad Gets Royal Encounter with William and Kate in L.A.
In case you missed it, The Royals are in Los Angeles kicking off their U.S. tour. Yesterday they attended a conference of technology venture investors in a Beverly Hills hotel, endorsing London’s place in the world as a major technology hub. After the conference was done, they toured various booths, but stopped briefly to play with the HP TouchPad and listen to a demonstration.
According to the Times, Prince William then Googled “Aston Villa” — the Birmingham Football Club, to go to the team’s home page. Said the HP representative Michelle Price:
“I think they enjoyed the demonstration… They seemed to like that.”
UPDATE: According to the Palm Blog, “the royal couple accepted a charitable donation of two TouchPads for Inner-City Arts, an oasis of learning, achievement and creativity for underserved children in the heart of Skid Row, an organization they will visit on Sunday as part of their California visit.” Cool.
There you have it folks! You may now go about your business (after checking out the gallery below, that is). Happy Saturday!
