Todd Bradley’s last stand [rumor]
BGR is reporting this morning that Todd Bradley, EVP of HP is looking to move to a CEO position of another company. This isn’t surprising, considering the recent developments over at HP. There’s likely a bit of fall-out from Bradley getting the shaft for CEO when Apotheker took over, too.
The question now is, why is he still at HP? The two rumors as to why he is staying is because of his personal demands and because he is working on a deal that might be worth more than the Autonomy deal that HP announced.
We have to wonder: what deal could he potentially be working on? The man who spearheaded the Palm purchase got Stephen DeWitt and Leo Apotheker talking recently about licensing to third party manufacturers and one company many believe could be the next home to webOS: Samsung.
To those who doubt the idea of Samsung purchasing or licensing webOS, consider the following: TouchPads and app sales are showing huge spikes since the fire sale started, so the market share will see an equal spike. Not to mention Samsung seems it could REALLY use the mother of all smartphone patents in their arsenal as of late. Sure, this could be all pie-in-the-sky kind of talk, but it isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility.
With all this taken into account, including recent patent litigation and PSG as a whole or part, and you would have a deal that would either come close to the $10.3 billion Autonomy purchase… or something far larger.
