Black Friday App Sale: The Apps

By: , 11/25/2011 3:00 pm | 17 comments

So ever since the tweet went out telling everyone about that Black Friday app sale, we’ve all been wondering “well… what apps are on sale?!”

Wonder no more, looks like HP just sent out an email to their mailing list detailing the app sale. We’ve got the entire list below, so please, form a single-file line and enter the store without hitting, scratching, biting, stealing, or name-calling others. Do note that this is a limited time sale that runs through Cyber Monday.

Thanks Gabe for the email!

(warning: the price doesn’t appear to be updated just yet, so don’t buy it until it is)

flattr this!

HELLO, news broke out that HP will make the decision on what to do with HP WEBOS within 2 weeks. This was just found out today according to Meg Whitman.

  • Jasiel

I wish that most of the apps were on sale… Guess I’ll have to wait until Xmas

just bought smart office. Price came up as $9.99. I assumed (wrongly) that it was just a display error. My HP receipt also says $9.99 and the suport url in the receipt email is broken. Now i’m going to spend $30+ of my time trying to recoupe $5 just on the principle. Plus smart office crashedon the second document I viewed. :(

I’ve also noticed that some of the prices aren’t coming up as advertised, for example, Rudolph. But I did snag Buka and Big Boss.

Might as well make another edit, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is $2.99 still. The obvios idea though is that when the app catalog says a price, then asks you to confirm you want to buy the app at that price, figure that’s the price it will be, not cheaper because the internet says so. Just a tip to the wise.

Oh my, those sale prices looked like what i usually think of for regular prices, oh my..
I guess i was spoilled by sales during the Hot Apps Contest or something??

Dropboxify is the only real application that shows a lot of promise if it were a “Black Friday” or “Cyber Monday” deal. The entire nature of it all though is just about lost on legacy users such as myself. Although, running Mint, with Dropboxify makes it easier to write poetry and keep it going on the go.

This is ridiculous. The price for Smartoffice is STILL wrong. I emailed support. No answer. Anyone have any success?

I read that splash top  has no real security – anyone care to comment

This is getting to be the end of WebOS before it fully becomes FOSS which is what it should have been. Linux marketshare for older computer systems such as P IV or P III systems would have been great. Instead we get handed a $315M closing cost. Ruby ran it into the ground without truthfully being ready to showcase what he had stalled before selling to HP. Leo stepped up and took the blame as Ruby and the board steered to kill it. Without Leo the exuses for the board and Jon have grown tired and stale. No WebOS 2.1 for legacy users and a divide between users. HP technically killed WebOS before they even took over. The Black Friday stable of apps applies to those who are not legacy it appears. Though I do like the newer patches from Preware HP and Palm destroyed it to save money and Jon had nothing done on paper, on the flash side of sales yes, and he could not deliver what the legacy audience had needed. You make money in sales not just by flash but in being stable if you have one of the two you do not make it. Fluffing trying to make a sale with unfinished operating systems should be considered insider trading as the company mounts a sale. In my mind Ruby lacks the intelligence of Jack Tramial, the sales pitching of Jobs, and the genuine hacker spirit of Linus Torvaldes.
